    You are kidding right?
If it was possible to just 'stop paying taxes', what would be the point of them in the first place?
    lol

Is that all i get hammered on tax and NI.

It is, that is your stamp, but it will affect your pension.

In a world far away where the laws of reality make no sense:?

what do you think pays for the hospitals and doctors you use

you think these things are free?

    joker

Its entirely possible to stop paying NI. Stop working.

Think of it as National Insurance

Which contributions pay for which benefits?
    Class 1
Class 1 national insurance contributions count towards contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Incapacity Benefit, contributory Employment and Support Allowance, Bereavement Benefits, Retirement Pension and Maternity Allowance.
    Class 2
Class 2 contributions count towards the same benefits as Class 1, but Class 2 will not always count towards contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance.
    Class 3
Class 3 (voluntary contributions) count towards bereavement benefits and Retirement Pension.

They wont let you stop paying but woe betide you if you overpay. I've been trying for 18 months to get an overpayment off them. Will only deal by letter and they quote a 6 month backlog on letters!

    Scammers in disguise!

no no no and no,why should you live on the rest of us workers , we all have to pay ni it pays for our schools nhs etc and maybe one day you might need to claim a benefit that is contribution based then you will be thankfull that you paid, and in these times that is entirely possible.

and i can lick my own neck..........NOT!!!

    NI no.
    hey that's catchy!

You're looking at it the wrong way, the only thing worse than paying £300/month in NI is paying £80.

I never cease to be amazed at some of the questions asked here...

Not a chance, paying £80/month means you have low earnings, which would you rather realistically pay.
