Is it possible to transfer number AND credit from Three PAYG sim to another Three PAYG sim? (New phone needs smaller size)
Posted 21st Sep 2015
I know you can usually get the PAC code (though I don't know if it's relevant, being the same carrier) but can I also keep the credit considering it's the same network. I know you usually don't keep credit when changing networks.
all you need to do is ask them for a smaller sim. nothing else needs to be changed.
Ask. Three. To send you. A. Different size. Sim.
Slower. Please.

Quickest and easiest is to go in store to do it

Do it in store, takes about 5 minutes in the store and ten more for the transfer to happen. Done it several times before

(and don't let them fob you off with just cutting it down - they're not always the right size and can cause you problems getting it in and out in the future)
Just be aware, in store they will charge you £5.11 to swap sims. I tried 5 different stores 2 weeks ago and they all insisted on the charge, even though I was told over the phone it would be free.
When you try and order over the phone, they like to make out its easier and quicker to go in store, even claiming it's free. Delivery will take 5 working days! Rubbish, I've just changed 3 sims and all came within 2 days.
Only downside is you have to ring them to activate the Sim, and can take around 2 hours to go live.

Vodafone (hukd most hated network) don't charge to change sim in store.... Just sayin
One of my sims was payg, and they also transferred the remaining 41p balance to the new nano Sim.
This was a surprise as I was expecting to lose the credit.
So yes it is possible to transfer Sim and credit as well. (edited)

thats for a new sim with new telno, not a new size one keeping existing. I went through the whole process last week with three.

Not for new telno. The form says "Your existing phone or Mobile Broadband number" for the first field and I went through the process, online with an existing Three (321 PAYG) number to a new sized sim Then again, it wasn't as recent as last week so perhaps it's different now.
I changed my 3 sim to nano sim they did it for free
