Is it possible to wild camp on Jersey/Guernsey?

I'm touring France on my bike through June, will be coming back to the UK possibly via Jersey or Guernsey. Are there many places where wild camping is possible on either of the islands (is one better for it than the other).

I want to avoid any sort of campsite. Google maps seems to show plenty of opportunities, but I'm not sure how busy the islands get in the summer, and if it's something they are strict on.

The local tourist information are just going to direct me to commercial campsites. I realise it's technically "against the law", just like most of England/Wales, but can it be done discretely without any bother.
