that only works in person..... if it happens when your on the phone put an chineese accent on see how they like it, its a fun game, who will hang up first, perserverence is the key..... place bets now!

I do it all the time.
I do tech support
If I cant understand them then I have to ask for someone that can speak English.
Otherwise i could be sat here for days trying to figure **** out

No. it's perfectly alright.
If you ask them to repeat until you have properly understood than that's fine.
I almost always ask them to repeat their names, which they gabble off at the start.

Probs all that ^^^

I had someone from Birmingham phone me yesterday to give me a price on accommodation for a course I'm attending at the end of the Month.. All I could understand was the cost per night.. I haven't a clue who it was from as I e-mailed so many.. I thought I could find out from the phone number and link it to their web-site.. The phone call was on a mobile.... She probably couldn't understand me either..

Ouch! that one stung!!!!!!! :x

Just a little important point,

When I get problems with Sky, Which is pretty often! I call and I always get put through to an Indian ( i think) call centre and I always ask nicely for them to transfer my call back to the UK, Which they do. At that point I almost always get a Scottish call centre and I would say they are one of the most helpful people to deal with. They almost always seem to help to solve whatever i'm asking.

I am a little biased though.

"It's ***** being Scottish! We're the lowest of the low. Most people hate the English. I don't. They're just ******s. We're colonised by ******s. We couldn't even find a decent race to be colonised by. It's a ***** state of affairs to be in, and no amount of fresh air is ever going to change that."

***** sounds like might.
****** sounds like anchors.

I used to work in phone tech support for Dell, and part of my duties required serving South African customers. You ever spoken to a South African that can speak only broken English, over a really bad VOIP line? You ever had to contend with a language were saying "no no" actually means "yes"? No? Then you've never felt true pain. It's like childbirth, but through your ears.

Oh, and, obligitory racist disclaimer: I'm not racist, I've got South African friends, and I totally want to bone Charlize Theron.
