definately depends who it is......I hate morning breath and tell my hubby to go brush if he breathes on me

dont tell them straight to thier face, ask them if they've been eating crap.

i usually just offer a chewing gum... if that doesnt work i speak whilst looking in the opposite direction

but i dont think its rude to tell someone, i think its in their benefit to know

Tell them, if they take offence fart in their face and see if they like it....

i agree it depends who it is....i'd tell my sister but not someone at work

i told someone at work

my machine kept breaking down and the guy fixing had well bad breathe like not been brushed in weeks smell, with food all in between the teeth and terrible BO

the smell was horiffic and i was gagging so i asked him if he had brushed his teeth today

he got the hump and told the supervisor i was bullying him!!! WTF he was in his 40s for gods sake

In the end the HR said that he did have some personal hygiene issues and i wasnt rude

ok for the people saying it depends on who it is...

why is it rude to tell some and not others? its not like your insulting them, just simply saying look mate your breathe isnt very nice.... its not like it cant be helped is it. I think its rude for them to talk to you with bad breathe

Most things depend on how they're said, even if the message has the same meaning. If you put yourself into the shoes of the recipient, then don't say anything that you might reasonably guess would not be appreciated, or would be insulting.

Look out for bargain deals on mouthwash, and share some when you buy it, eg. Buy one, get one free.

Overall, let's move away from the anything goes approach, where some might think it's OK to say anything to anybody, whenever they see fit. Also, consider what your objectives are - is it to help them, or to help yourself.

im always telling my son his breath stinks...i would rather tell him myself than have other teenagers say it to him

I'd want to know if I was smelly so I could do something about it.
I don't think it is rude as long as it is done with a bit of tact.:)

Yeh, like if you can let them know then it stops the embarrassment of having it 24/7 and it getting picked up on by everyone

Bad breath is awful and it just isn't from bad dental hygeine, sometimes if someone has issues with their stomach it can cause a bad odour. Also the person may not be aware that their breath smells. Personally i would just drop subtle hints, if they had to talk to me at a close proximity i would offer a mint or chewing gum or maybe ask them can they smell a funny smell. Or ask them have they had garlic lol

I tell my fiancée her breath stinks sometimes, but then she's a fan of anything with onion and garlic in. I hate it when I get a whiff of someone's breath and it actually makes me gag and stings the back of my throat. It's got to be gingivitis to stink that bad.

A guy I used to work with I got on with him quite well and noticed whenever he was around I smelt saw dust I piped up and mentioned if he could smell it too, later realising it was his BO was quite embarrassed after but needed mentioning as it was all the time.

and if subtle hints don't work just address the person with "a'right dog breath" every time you see them lol

Your breath smells funny have you got a bad tooth or eaten something funky?
here have a Minto :-D You need to get that sorted out.
Say it in a pleasant way. Then they are aware of it.

say "does my breath smell funny"
"No why"
"Oh its yours then"

:-D

Anyway, why do people with nuclear breath never seem to notice it themselves?

cus they think its us LOL
mint breath probly smells of a sewer to them

:giggle:

lol, this thread cracked me up. :-D

Unfortunately, bad breathe can't always be helped, so I think it's only fair to tell them of the problem in a nice way and then they can try and cover it up with mints and gum etc.

We told someone recently about their breathe...I think we said something like "****sake man, whenever you open your mouth, I get a whiff of sh**" hahahaha
We also told him not to look at us when he speaks to him...as it's rude to make eye contact. :giggle:

Does that make me contradict my previous comment? :whistling:

Wow, what kinda company do you work for that they don't care about their staffs personal hygiene? lol

kerri_ say "does my breath smell funny" "No why""Oh its yours then":-D

we had this guy at college whos breath stank, and the classic was ; "what have you had for breakfast? dog - s**t sarnies?", it was probably quite embarrasing for him lookin back, but it did the trick, he used to have chewing gum with him most of the time after that. i suppose we could have been a bit more subtle but it was for the benefit of everyone involved.
