Is my gaming system specification compatible to build? Please advise! :)

Hello,
I am putting a gaming desktop spec together and I would like to be 110% sure I haven't missed anything out for compatibility or advising more suitable components such as sufficient power/voltage(memory DIMM slots), interfaces, cabling, sufficient fans included(sufficient cooling?) etc. My component list is as follows:

Intel i7 950 CPU 3.06GHz

Corsair 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz XMS3 Memory Kit CL9(9-9-9-24) 1.65V
ASUS GeForce GTX 480
Asus Rampage III Extreme Intel X58 1366 Motherboard
Creative X-FI TITANIUM FATALITY PRO
Coolermaster Silent Pro 850W Modular PSU
120GB OCZ Vertex 2 3.5" SSD up to 285MB/s READ up to 275MB/s WRITE
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache - OEM
LG CH08LS10 8x BD-ROM with DVD±RW & LightScribe SATA Blu-Ray Drive - OEM Black

OS Windows 7 64 bit supplied from my university for free
Heat conductive grease, vibration bolts for motherboard

I am aware that the motherboard has a internal sound card but due internet research, its been identified it produces hissing and popping occasionally, plus I budgeted for a higher quality external card as shown.

I very much appreciate your feedback

Coolermaster Silent Pro 850W Modular PSU this to a 1000w PSU

not needed Creative X-FI TITANIUM FATALITY PRO as sound onboard is good enough on this M/B if you use windows 7 drivers rather than manufactures drivers.

Use Arctic cooling for thermal compound MX-5 is best one for i7

for the 580 to be well supplied they recommend at least a 1000w PSU Dual rail with 20amps on each one.

The thermal heatsink compound you get for CPU is ok but better thermal cooling use Arctic paste

The 580 is a 350w user and Nvidia recommends that anything over 850w is ok

850w is not going to cut the mustard old bean so stfu and be a good little boy....

I tried to help the guy and you put your 2p worth in i hope that the guy takes you on and finds out he will get BSOD because there is not enough watts and amps due to juice extraction from the PSU you say is fine...

Do some sodding reading about the 580 on some forums before you open your childish gob.

As you state that a 850watt PSU is going to be fine

Please make sure its a Branded one and has the following requirements You should be fine with a 850W PSU as long as it can supply about 40A on the 12V rail(s).
Otherwise your going to be struggling with having power alarms going off however The truth is that your total wattage really doesnt matter, as long as you can produce the required amperage on the 12V rail. The label on your PSU should tell you how many amps your PSU is able to produce at 12V.

The official number is that you need 42Amps in total on the 12V rail in order to run it. The issue here is that this is an estimate. The actual usaage of the video card is going to be MUCH lower than 42Amps, as the 42amps includes everything in your system (CPU, hard drives, other accessories, etc.)

It becomes very difficult to estimate the exact required number because each computer system is different, and many components to even publish how much power they use.

so wattage is not an issue but ampage so if a 850w is only supplying 20amps on a single 12v rail its not going to function properly but having a 12volt dual rail that pumps out 40A+ equalized this then supplies enough Amps to each bit of hardware that requests the amount of ampage from the PSU.
