i thought that i shouldnt be allowed to make any calls?
if so is pay as you go cheaper than getting a contract?

unless you terminate a contract it will continue, you will continue to get billed as before

You will need to read the terms of your contract, but I think you will find that you need to tell the company that you want to cancel the contract, otherwise they will assume you want to keep it.

If you're only doing the odd text message & occasional phone call then you are most likely better off using PAYG. If you phone the company you can ask them to put the phone over to PAYG (and keep the same number).

As said before, Contracts are not for a fixed term, they have a minimum fixed term.

If you want out of your contract, the easiest way is to request your PAC code and transfer your number to another provider.

well they phoned me up and offered me a retention deal (three) and it wasn't thnat brilliant so i assked to be cancelled hoping they would offer me a better deal.
i'd have thought that since my contract was finished i wasn't able to make andy more calls and i'd be happy with that.

why is it so easy to get into something but so difficult to get out?

until your contract is terminated you will be able ot use phone, but you will be charged for it, asking for a mac code does not terminate your contract

Just thought I'd mention, when my contract expired, I went on PAYG for a month, spent three times more than normal, so got a new contract
Depends on how much you use your phone I suppose, I'm always on mine & texting so it's far cheaper for me to be on contract.
