It's not really an offer. Book an appointment at the Genius bar in your local store and see what they have to say. I know it's £140 if you have a broken iPhone, but I'm not sure about iPods.

I was thinking of using it when we purchase the new iPhone

would be cool if we got something like 10% off

Theres a recycling program from Apple here

apple.com/rec…tml

Recycle waste electronic equipment free of charge at local municipal collection points. Purchase any qualifying Apple computer or display and receive free recycling of your old computer and monitor at any UK Apple Retail Store. Or get 10 percent off a new iPod when you bring in your old iPod for recycling.* Recycle undamaged Apple product batteries at any UK Apple Retail Store free of charge.

*10 percent discount does not apply to iPod shuffle.

Just spoke to someone at Apple and they have confimed this is only for iPods. and not for iPhones
