Is the "state this country is in" the fault of the people who voted for Labour for the last 12 years?

What do you think? Is it their fault, after all, they chose the Labour party?

I agree.............I know a women now 60 and she has never worked a day in the last 10 years claiming incapacity for a bad knee, she has even been given a Car to get around in.
Quite handy for going on holiday for walks in!! and parking outside our house so she can wash it every other day!!!
her incapacity doesnt seem to inpinge on her dancing up and down her mates garden when she has had a skin full either.........strange that!!
    :x:x:x

No they all lie to get in to power

i just cant believe 28% of the public are still voting for labour after the complete mess this countries become.
they say its because that labour look after the poor, well as recent figures have proved under labour the rich have gottten richer quicker under labour rule, so that rules that out. it cant be because of the good job theyve done, we had a few good years but that was because Blair and Brown sold off everything to raise funds( look at our gold reserves, oh we havent got any, Brown the numpty sold all the gold at its lowest price for 30 years).
guess its those new arrivals into the country brought in to bolster labours voters , as it stands immigrants will have a big say in how this country is run at the next election.

yeah but some tell bigger porkies then others!!!!!!!
like Weapons of mass destruction for instance!

An the fact that this isn't a one off story is the issue. I think everyone knows of someone who is really taking the Michael with the benefits system.
I blame the government allowing it to happen more than I do the actual perpetrators.

Get the conservatives in and we will have a hell of a lot of bitching and moaning, but it will be coming from those who are being forced back into work! A very good thing!

You have no clue about economics, our economy generates 1.4 trillion a year, you would have us cut spending immediately out of recession, all that will do is plunge us back in. To get out of a recession we NEED to spend

hung parliament will be a good thing imho-maybe get some consensus for the good of the country then-germany has had a coalition government for 20 years and have the strongest economy in europe. its worked well in sweden too. Cameron and brown keep telling us how bad it will be,but thats only because they want absolute power-we have tried it that way and look what happened. The voting system in this country is an utter joke-on the news this morning, based on cameron getting 33%,brown 27% and clegg 28%,the seats would be cameron 267,brown 266,clegg 84-nobody in their right mind can call that fair.

is the state of the country the "fault" of labour voters? of course not! did they vote for a worldwide recession? did they know it would happen?

Think you are missing the point, I don't like any of them. But I wouldn't want that weasel Cameron anywhere near the helm of this ship.

All I know is the last time the Conservatives were in power they really burgered up this country... you think its bad now! Ha! Do some historical research and read each parties policies before you get your blue tinted specs on. As bad as everything is I think it really is a case of 'better the devil you know'

we are not out of a recession, whatever others say, and brown made bad decessions form the start, selling our gold reserves was great lol. Brown has admitted he will be making cuts but sue to labours inability to tell people where the money is going, no one else could say where the cuts would be, and the Chancellor admitted that

there are a lot of red tined glasses here, me thinks

Re 'the state this country is in' - the recent recession was caused by poor financial practice in the US. GB was quck to respond with the correct policies, which were then copied to a greateer of lesser extent by the rest of the world. I believe he averted a world wide depression. I am sure that Micoo is right with his analysis of the fiscal situation.

As to anything else to do with 'the state this country is in' - I suggest that it is the people of this country who need to take more responsibility - you can lead a horse ( or a baying, anti-social ranter!) to water ( bettter society) but ........
I do not blame the Labour gov for this. I do place some blame at the foot of the Thatcher gov. She who said that 'There is no such thing as society' has a great deal to anwer for.

lol, yes and no, its Labour's fault that we didn't get to vote for a new PM, we just got told it would be Gordon Brown which was very wrong IMO.

On the other hand, the recession would have been an issue regardless of what party was in power, its affected everyone internationally, thats not Labour's fault, I don't think Greece voted for the UK's PM 13 years ago!

what is the "agenda" in this particular thread?

There is nothing wrong with healthy debate and the last few weeks have been great with a renewed interest in politics. Been great fun and I can't wait for thursday night/friday morning.

As for the op yeah of course it is and thankfully it seems those labour supporters are finally waking up to this. My god even the guardian and their own parliamentary candidates have now distanced themselves from them and gordon brown.

has anyone noticed the complete LACK of george osbourne during this campaign? no question and answer sessions,no interviews,NOTHING. very strange for the man who wants to be chancellor come friday-methinks he has been told to keep his mouth shut.

yet ken clark gets wheeled out at every opportunity to explain fiscal policy-all very strange no?

Ha ha - you've fallen for that line!

So, to take the analogy further, I am a company up to my eye-balls in debt - the best way out is to spend lots of money employing more people, some of which will buy my product and will therefore keep the company afloat!!!!....OR cut back on all unnecessary spending and reduce the debt I already have and enable the company to grow in the future.

Think about it - what Labour/Gordon Brown are saying is complete tosh designed to bamboozle the general public. There is only one way to reduce debt - reduce your spending. There is so much unnecessary spending going on in the public sector as to be obscene - most of it jobs for the boys. Any decent senior manager, given proper carte blanche by the government, could reduce most departments by 30-40% without affecting the service - remove the multiple layers of management and channel the funds back into what the department is supposed to deliver.

Now, you may call b*lls**t but I have been doing this for over 10 years, very successfully, and promise you that it works. An example, my company now deliver a (demonstratable) better service, to large parts of the NHS, at 35% less cost with no loss of 'workers'. How? By getting rid of the chaff that surrounds the real work that should be done (managers, consultants, executive assistants, etc etc etc) and improving processes. Exactly how it needs to be approached to get the UK back on track. Pity that no-one has the b*lls to do it.

    Rant over :-)

    Dave

Its great to see the conservative bandwagon blaming Labour for a worldwide recession! if Gordon hadn't poured in the money when he did this recession would have been a lot worse than it was. the Banks have to take quite a bit of the blame for their reckless gambling with other peoples money. Cameroon is a stuck up toff who wants to end the health service and drastically cut public spending .He has also stated that he will seriously reduce the amount of money which N.Ireland receives and axe huge amounts of health/service and civil service jobs. i think that anyone who wants i health service to exist in this country need to vote Labour
