Is there a warranty on christmas presents?

Just wondering if xmas pressies have a warranty if one does not have a proof of purchase or do i need to get receipts off people?

Manufacturer warranty applies no matter where an item was purchased - for some items you'll need to prove it was bought there in order to get a repair or replacement... it's fair enough!

Many of the major high street retailers show leniency on shoppers returning items after Christmas as they realise that people will have purchased them well in advance and are often outwith their 7, 14 or 30 day money back policy.

Some stores like Game have their own 12 month policy on certain items so I'd give the shop a call and ask them what their policy is first. If its something that someone wants to exchange then most shops will honour an exchange or give store credit.

I'd imagine that if you wanted a refund then you would need the actual receipt though.

If the item is faulty then I'd call the shop in question and ask them, if its been a short time since purchase then they may exhange it like for like, or if its a more expensive item they may refer you to the manufacturers warranty.
