Is there any way to hire or borrow a ladder/stepladder

Need to go into loft to get some things down and cant reach it with a chair so might need a ladder, stepladders are about £50 at least for a tallish one and theres no point if I need to get rid of it a week or 2 later.

Was thinking of ringing local joiners but that might sound silly.

friends and family should have 1?
None locally. Is a HSS about 15-20 minutes walk up road.

Doesnt seem too expensive, just need someway of getting up about 8-10 feet off ground.
Forgot to say thanks.
Perhaps a silly question, But how'd you get the stuff in the loft?
Stood on a chair moved cover and just chucked it in
Is there none of your neighbours you could ask?
Failing that can you not get one in Argos use it and take it back the same day? jeesis.
Didnt realise they sold them! might do that.
If you want to dispose of your housemate the sea might be a better option as the loft is the first place they will look
If you can't get in the loft due to having no ladder...............how did you put things in there in the first place?
Syzable

Lol, he said he moved the cover n just chucked it in :P we forgive you its early

Why not just invest in a ladder anyway, one of those things you just cant help but have! specially for those awkward loft situations!
Couple of training sessions at the local Olympic Stadium, and High Jump it in there...

Your welcome
Proper loft ladders at wickes are £29.99, i know because ive been shopping round for one! Lofts can be a waste of good valuable storage space, unfortunatly our current houses loft hatch is just big enough to get my head and one shoulder through! Luckily that will change next month when we vacate the premises to a bigger home!.

I would just ask a neighbour, go and knock on a few doors someone should have one. Mine was nowhere near £50.
Might sound silly but if you have a scaffold board that reaches the trap door, you could nail a few battens to it and use them to climb up on. Not too much expense in that :whistling:
You could perhaps stand on your Landlady' shoulders.
I have a step ladder.........cos my original ladder left me !!

Sorry, I'll get my coat....

You so make me laugh:giggle:

Loving your work:thumbsup:
The terrace houses where we currently live theres a ladder hanging in what seems every other alleyway thankfully most seem to be locked up otherwise they'd be handy for local burglars!
Can't your flat mate just give you a hand up?
Get a brush, turn it upside down.

Bang on the ceiling & when the plaster breaks, then all your stuff will fall down

Sorted !

I can just picture a 'Blades of Glory' moment there
Has your landlady got a ladder ?

After the shower incident I'm sure she'll lend it to you if she has one ;-)
