Is there such a thing as a cordless answering machine?

As in the answering machine part isn't plugged into the phone socket but can be operated via wireless?

I've got an answering machine but the best place I can put it is in the kitchen which is near the socket, but I want the answering machine part in my office if possible, would obviously still have a unit plugged into the kitchen, just the answering machine in the office.

Anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks.

Office is 2 floors above! Alot of wiring, thought wireless would be easier.

Can you mute an answering machine so messages are recorded but not played at the time of recording, could then collect them at a quiet time so as not to disturb family.

most modern phones have the option of message playback on the handset, also a beep or light to let you know you have a message. no need for cordless base station anymore! good luck.

We have a Old Dect NTL answering machine which has 3 cordless phones and you can access the answering machine via the phones, also mute the incoming message so you dont hear it coming in.
Might do the trick.

Info says

"Message playback from base and handset."

why not use BT 1571 advance service, you pay a bit extra for it, but can access it from anywhere in the world via any telephone

Oh you can also have it send you a text to say you have a new message

Thanks, but my main reason is so that the messages don't disturb my family in the kitchen/lounge etc.

Can you set it so that all messages that are recorded are automatically muted? That feature would do the job.
