Is this a case of people looking at a picture and bidding?

    120285259296 search that on ebay

its shocking but the seller will not have to give the money back as hes stated what it is in the small print

feel sorry for the winning bidder!!!

link would probably be a dud.

another ebayer that rips people off.

Report it! Surely thats a misleading title...

Look at their history, they have feedback for falling for the same scam, guess it's where they got the idea from!

Look at the names of the people who have bid.

if someone is willing to not read the bold capital letters at the bottem then they deserve to be ripped off!!!!

but i dont agree with it and he/she should be banned from ebay for even trying to rip someone off.

I smell shill bidding between knoxvill7614 and smiffta_999.

imo its your own fault if you bid on something like that, doesnt make what the seller is doing right, but its the buyers responsibility

So he's auctioning a referral link? Should be banned.

If people are too lazy to read an items description in full then that is their fault, its not unusual for sellers to put faults on items right at the end either, ive seen phones, ipods, laptops etc done this way too. Its crafty but thats the way it goes, they say about the faults so no comeback on them, they even make it bold but people only tend to read the first 2 thirds of a page.

Selling links is banned now I believe?

i cant see the bidders names?

I saw something similar when the PS3 first came out, the title read:

Sony Playstation, 3 Games & Accesories

that comma makes all the difference, becuase there was no picture peopl were misreading it as a playstation 3 with games and accessories rather than a playstation with 3 games and accessories. went for around £400, but theres nothign wrong with that IMO people have misread the title, it wasnt misleading.

Thats very foolish of the bidders but I agree there its not necessarily misleading (provided it was in the PS and not PS3 category!). In this case though the title is:

Get yourself Sony Playstation 3 (40 GB) White ConsoleBrand new

Which is intentionally misleading and as mentioned above selling links is now against the rules (thankfully)

Are we looking at the same thing.
I can't see who the bidders are at the moment but smiffta_999 is the seller on my screen. :?

Yes.. but if you look at it he bought the same stype of thing from knoxville7614.. who is a new member.

and someone on this auction is a new member bidding up and up..

I've reported it as a prohibited item. Someone may want to do the same about shill bidding?

by the fact ev1 could see who bidders were earlier and then in middle of this thread quite quickly you then couldnt. So im guessing the seller saw this thread seen their error and changed it on fleabay

Its ended now with a highest bid of £195, however the "winner" is new to ebay so chances are its an account setup to bid the highest and not buy stopping the seller from scamming, something I have done myself to stop people paying for an obvious scam.

Makes me wonder though will he be making second chance offers to the other bidders, after all there are 8 others and he can have more than one of the same item seeing as its a link! A potential goldmine!

with regards to the Playstation scam someone did that with a box, the bidders misread and he sold a playstation box for loads...even made the papers...

there was a few first with the 360 when demand was outstripping demand, then with wii's then with the ps3

The listing would be something like

Xbox 360 box, instructions and original receipt, used once.

so all you got was a box, original receipt and instructions

its all about where the first comma is.

Whilst ever something is in demand people will do this type of thing, there was also ones selling pictures of the consoles and doing that somehow with the wording
