Can anybody shed some light on whether this pc is decent value for money?

awd-it.co.uk/awd…tml

I will tweak the specs slightly.

16gb ram instead of 8gb
250gb samsung ssd primary
2tb hdd
windows 10

Takes the price to £1250.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

The same people will spend a few 100 on a console and 40-50 per game. Adds up over a console lifecycle. Most expensive PC game I’ve bought was GTA and it was £19. Also got over 300 games on Steam which I’ll still be able to play if I get a new one.

£1250 just for games. Wow just wow
Put together the same spec PC on PCpartpicker and see how much it comes to. You then need to figure out if the extra is worth it for you not having to build it.
That being said, work just got me a new PC from Scan, it’s an 8700 non-k, ASUS ROG Strix, Evga 1070 SC, 250 ssd, 16 gb 2666 RAM and some generic Corsair case, cost them £1300.

Some people seem to get annoyed that people spend money on their hobby. My PC cost around £1300 to build a few years ago and it’s been used nearly every day since. I call that value for money.

Going on a computer often is not good though. I’m sure with £1300 there will be many other hobbies you can do

Yeah I don’t buy an iPhone just to play games.
Can I ask what phone you have and how much you got it for?

Judgemental? or opinion?
I said going on a computer often is not good for you... and that you should look out for other hobbies. I also said you’re enjoying life because you have £1300 to spend on a computer.. not everyone can afford to ‘buy’ their hobbies.
No need to get rude.

I don’t remember saying anything negative.
Just because I don’t agree with buying a computer for £1300 only for hobbies does not mean I’m an a...hole.
Please learn to be polite.

There's nothing wrong with spend £1300 on a computer, if that is what someone wants to spend their money on. Don't concern yourself what others so with their money.

I have an iPhone 8, paid £650 for it outright and hardly use it for games.
My PC is worth about £1,500 and I very rarely play games on it, if I did it would be very good.
It’s to go with my £5,000 of camera equipment. My main hobby, the one that lets me record my kids growing up, experience wildlife and to hunt out amazing sites round the landmass we all live in.

I know what people spend on hobbies, I can also recognise judgment or displays of the green eyed monster. Your responses strongly hint of both.

I’m against staying indoors being on a computer, or console all day.
There are other hobbies people can afford outside and socialise more.
Spending £1000 on a phone is a lot, I agree. But that’s just the society we live in.
I don’t care about this guys gaming passion or his money..why would I?! It’s just that in my opinion I don’t find it right..

Because someone spends a lot on a PC doesn't mean they spend all day on it also some people have social anxiety, some people may not be interested in other hobbies or maybe they do both but they relax at the end of the day by playing a video game or watching a movie, when they do that some want the best experiance with the little time they have
