Is this a good deal for a net book? Help for tech challenged parents!

    Hi all

I know there are several very knowledgable techies on here and was wondering whether anyone could help.

My mum is thinking of purchasing a net book. It will only really be used for surfing as both her and my dad are a bit technically challenged. I'm hoping that if they learn to use the web they'll stop asking me to do stuff!

Anyway, this is the package they are looking at. Can anyone tell me if it's good value? They don't have much spare cash so i'd like them to get a good deal if poss.

    Thanks in advance x

That would help wouldn't it!

Sorry, I wrote this in a rush this morning as my mum called to ask me to look at the package when I was on my way out the door! Thanks for any help people x

Are you sure a netbook is a good idea? They sacrifice usability for portability so if they're technically challenged something with a bigger screen and better ergonomics (as far as that's possible in a laptop anyway) might be worth considering.

You may have something there. Aside from the usability my dads eyesight is not that great anymore so a large screen would probably be essential for him. I'll do a lap top search on here and see what I come up with. Thanks for posting

+1, the keyboards are more fiddly and might be a bit off putting. If you look on the Comet site PM me if you find something - I have a 10% voucher I can give (from an offer here not long ago), they expire on the 24th so would prefer them to go to good use!

if you want something bigger ie 17" screen you could try dell, my dad has one, he loves it:-D

you can getr them for arount 349 or possibly a bit cheaper at www.dell.co.uk/outlet
