Is this a uk red light traffic camera?

    Banned
I stupidly did a red light. It wasn't like i chanced it, i just had a rare lapse in concentration. imgur.com/a/2…mlI thats the picture of the camera on the junction. It's a cross road and it was at night. It was my own stupidity i know that, i also know it was very dangerous of me and i'll be taking extra care in future. I rang the Coop but the camera doesn't belong to them. Also further down the road probably a mile there's another camera similar near a bus lane and at another junction imgur.com/mLB…4xN that's the other one. The thing is they look like basic security cameras. Just looking for some input.

no it's a junction cctv camera for the main council cctv which goes to the police etc. If it was a bus lane or yellow box junction and you did something wrong then yes they have you on CCTV but this is just monitoring traffic. i.e. crashes, traffic build up

so i could still get done?

    Just a standard CCTV.

just looks like standard ptz security camera.
not a traffic light camera, they are speed cameras linked to lights.
they would have to trawl through this manually to issue a ticket, even if legal.
I think its just town centre secuity camera.

I wouldn't of thought they were red light cameras, surely they would have to be on top of the traffic light facing forward. Wouldn't worry too much nothing you can do now about it.

    +1.
I think you are safe, unless of course you think there are Jumped up Jobsworths' at the council offices.... Never. The camera cant see the red Light from where it is and I believe Video evidence would be needed in a case like this.
If you get anything in the post, (Normally very Quickly) which I doubt, have a look on one of the specialist Motoring websites like pepipoo.com

    No.

Definitely just CCTV. Probably just a stop motion one too. Like previous poster said nothing you can do now anyway but I wouldn't sorry about it.

You should make a citizens arrest brilly.

    99.9% traffic monitoring CCTV ;).

    You should be fine.

So you noticed the small CCTV camera tucked behind the lights but not the lights changing, someone's looking in the wrong place when they are driving.
Suppose that the problem of all these cameras, you spend more time looking for the cameras that you do actually watching the road, and they try to convince us they are there for our own safety

just be grateful that you didn't drive into anything oncoming, and if you get a ticket deal with it then. I wouldn't get too worried about the what if's to be honest

no its not a traffic camera. the traffic camera is positioned before the traffic lights so it captures your car after it has passed the line with the RED TRAFFIC LIGHT SHOWING clearly on the picture
