Is this barclaycard website genuine ?

Just something about it looks unprofessional and some of the wording doesn't seem right. Is there anyway to find out ?

It's fine. See link from Barclaycard's own website: … It's fine. See link from Barclaycard's own website: http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/personal-home/cards/barclaycard-secure-demo/index.html

Did you actaully follow the links the website you go to looks nothing like that.

The padlock appears on genuine secure sites that have https:/ as the beginning of the URL.

This one is the CHROME web browser version.

Internet Explorer uses a slightly different image and places it on the status bar at the bottom of the page.

bcol.barclaycard.co.uk/eco…ull reached from the supplied link earlier in this post says the site is verified by Verisign and the certificate says it is valid from 2/10/2009 to 3/10/2010.

Whereas. party of the second part, the url in the post in question

secure.barclaycard.co.uk/bar…jsp

causes the page to say this when I try to access it (presumably either it records IP addresses when you register, and I am not registered to Barclays for online banking) :

You cannot access this page.

This may be due to one of two reasons:

1. The FI you are trying to access is deactivated

2. The access to the FI is restricted for specific IP addresses, and your address is not one of them.

So I cannot test the padlock icon on that page.

I am not saying this means the site is not genuine, in fact it looks OK to me.
