Is this ebay transaction ok? (update 03/12)

Found 18th Nov 2010
Sorry to be a pain and start an ebay thread.
Sold console on ebay.
0 Feedback buyer and paid via paypal straight away.
Messaged asking if i could not include any invoice as its for a birthday present.
Paypal address is verified and is a company address.
Gonna send it via parcelforce 48 hour covered up to £150

Is that all ok?

From the above info I don't see why not. Not including an invoice is no biggy.

Personally I'd take down all serial numbers and maybe photo's before sending if you can so you have some evidence incase there is a problem.

seems fine, they paid and emailed you politely, I can see how thats strange with being a seller on eBay but what more do you expect?!

I take it the 48 hour is tracked and signed for?

Sorry guys i know it seems straight forward but once bitten twice shy blah blah.

Would rather create this thread than create one in a weeks time asking why its all gone wrong and then someone telling me i should of done something differently to avoid the latest scam.

Signed for or confirmation of delivery?

I ticked that box so assume it will be signed for.

Its parcel force express 48 service if that means anything

Dont wori buyer seems to be genuine as the address is confirmed. If anythin happens you can show posting certificate

I understand, your always going to be wary being a seller on ebay, all the power is with the buyer whether it's a £20 or £200 transaction.

Cheers all for the help.

oh ****... was it a residential address?

It sold for £150, when i posted it at post office i did get the person to confirm it will be signed for service, it was sent using parcelforce 48 service.

When i log in via paypal the payment is there and seller protection is eligible and the address is confirmed.

Any advice?

erm you've lost that money

eeeek bad times. Seems a bit stupid though if you dont get money back though sending it out recorded etc. what do paypal expect you to do...wait 4 or 5 days for a scammer notification before you send it out?

He who knows everything has spoken. Consider yourself £150 poorer.

wow, bad times indeed

I have had same request when sending things to other countries, this was due to not wanting to pay tax at other end.

I wouldn't worry too much yet. I can't see how you can be left out of pocket if you've done everything by the book. Have you spoken to ebay to ask the situation? 020 8605 3004

Going over paypals seller protection i cant see why i wont be covered.

The only thing i need to wait on is proof of delivery, if that doesn't happen then i can claim off the post office as i insured it for up to £200.

Or am i really missing the point?

I don't see how you can be out of pocket on this deal. It's either upto paypal ot RM to refund surely. You did everything they ask for so you should be covered.

I've just logged in to my paypal and its says the money is now on hold as expected.

I've gone to check the tracking number and it has gone from being delivered to in progress. I checked it on the Tuesday or Wednesday after i posted this thread and it said it had been delivered.

How has the scammer managed to change it back to in progress???

I cant dispute it now as i have no proof its been delivered... i would appreciate any help?
