No I doubt that very much, as all official updates are on the Microsoft website itself, always use the links from there, never from an e-mail.


can you not do it through the security centre in control panel, i never click on any emails sent like that

If you're worried, don't click.

I should mention I know nothing about viruses.

If this were true, I would've expected it to be on the news because quite a few people use windows.

I dont think Microsoft would be too quick to say.....

An uninvited request to download & install something? Hmm...

Does not look genuine at all

im just guessing but if there was something they wanted you to download i think they would give you a link to the microsoft download section and tell you to download the right file
