is this router worth the money?

i'm looking around for a fairy decent & cheap, router/usb adaptor comibination, as i'm considering going wireless, due to having to either have the 360 or the pc on at once, (i'd rather have both) and then 360 wireless adaptor and i came across this, this seems a bit good to be true? for £38 inc packing is it because it's n and not n1 rated, or is it crap?

i think i only payed around £60 for mine mate a year ago or two so this isn't too bad i dont think. Mine's belkin as well , does muck up sometimes though but so easy to fix , just pump in i.p address and then reset it or restore factory settings then pump in settings

    no probs lol

my mate reckons those usb wifi dongles from belkin are pretty poor I do not own one so cannot really say he has no reason to lie though.

I own some of their modem/routeres and they are ok Im using one now 7633 4a as thats one that allows 2 or more xbox 360's or ps3's at same time with perfect NAT status.

not sure if you want one but we have

£15 for Linksys, only because I dont know where the CD is (just moved house), but I can give you direct link for download.

£20 for Neatgear all items included.

Both exclude Postage... but come with upto 4 Filters if required.

If you give Virgin a ring they will probably give you a free Netgear router as they seem to give them away to everyone who sign up now anyway. They did for me anyway.

i tried the online form, and it said new broadband customers. do you think it's worth the nag as we're already pushing the xl tv package on our 3 for £30 out of them, although i dont think my mum would be bothered to do it herself.

gonna try bag one of them cheap phillips ones, only have 2 meg, so a g router would do. if it's pants, i'll just stick to the ethernet.

debating whether to get a belkin wireless gaming adaptor or save a bit more and go official xbox now.

adsl and dsl is the same thing though* adsl and cable are different. I presume virgin is mostly cable /fibre and I assumed that you meant to type adsl and cable are different and not what you did type as in quote below which is why i asked if you really meant to type what you did as in look at it again as you had done what I sometimes do and type the same thing twice with a brain fart

    * they are based on same tech both work on adsl modem the A means you do not get same up as down as in asymmetrical

You cannot use an ADSL modem on Cable So if the belkin in post is for x[DSL] etc then it will not work

But as that belkin appears to be just a router there should be no reason why it cannot be used with Virgin or any ISP / x[dsl] / or cable

obviously you need your own modem

It depends what revision you have. The 802.11g USB dongle I have, for example, comes in minimum of five different versions, all with identical boxes and casings. The difference is the chipset they use internally. Some work really well, others, really, really bad.
