    Is this SLR camera worth it?

    I am selling this camera because I have barely used. The camera is in perfect working order, cosmetically in mint condition.

    for £200? was meant to get a 450d but deal fell through.

    If you could wait till after christmas i would take this for £200, (unless i fail my driving test next week then i wont have a £3000 insurance bill to pay lol)

    Approx 18 months ago, they were selling the old stock of these at Sainsbury for £200 (which was a great price at the time) Obviously with a warranty and not second hand.

    Its OK, but nothing special at that price. I'd keep looking if I were you. (higher pixel count at same price)

    The lens isn't great, I would look out for the 'is' version of the 18-55

    I disagree. Being able to crop images is and can be very relevant.

    I take your point on the Cameras sensor (I just upgraded from a 300D to a 550D) and damn fine results were gained from my 6MP 300D, But I'd prefer the 12MP 450D any day over the 300D.

    And the lens optics on this I doubt are any different to the IS lens on my 550D

    I've owned both the IS and non IS of this lens, the difference is vast

    The MP count IS sort of relevant. I've lent my lenses from my 350d to a friend with a 550d and the image quality is a LOT better

    But if you're just a casual user then you're right, placing too much emphasis on MP isn't worth the time
