ISP's-illegal downloading

just heard that 6 well known ISP's have signed up to an agreement to crack down on illegal downloading. Particularly music. Users will be sent a letter saying their activity has been logged and will be tracked

does anyone know which ISP's these are? Im with AOL

BT Retail, Virgin Media, Orange, Tiscali, BSkyB and Carphone Warehouse (AOL), I'd stay well clear of every one of these ISPs for this reason (I get free BT broadband) but am debating jacking that in, or giving it to my nana and getting a proper ISP like Be who won't give out your details without a court order.
Carphone Warehouse also going back on there original stance. BT retail are just trying to lose customers with this and phorm

following the 3 strikes you in trubble rule, i think was similiar thread this am here

when did this start?

goto ]thinkbroadband loads of news and reaction to it there

it's just giving these isps another excuse to throttle your so called "unlimited" connection, as if they are not slow enough already.

I'm glad I'm with BE.

Will rapidshare and megashare be safe?, have to stock up on my downloads as the rainy days beckons.

Basically it's only P2P, as in the services that you connect to other computers and show off your lovely IP address. So Rapidshare people (although they keep a log) and Newsgroup (The Best...) will be safe.
