Nintendo didn't have a Manchester office in 1981. She probably worked on a later home computer port a few years later.

    Manchester in Japan?

I presume you are referring to the home console market, not the original video arcade version.

Many happy returns to 'Jumpman' the Carpenter who later became Mario (Mario) the Plumber, too.

She worked for Imagine Games, then Ocean when they bought them out. She left as they were taken over by Infogrames. Totally not Japanese to my knowledge! Lol. To be honest I wasn't referring to the home console market because I haven't a clue about the history of the games! But thanks for putting me right FP.

i was going to suggest ocean software as they were based in manchester and did the ports to the spectrum etc in 1986

Doesn't this mean its also Mario's?

Do we really count Mario's surname as Mario the only reference to that was Bob Hoskins, Mario Movie, and the Mario Super Show, never in any Official capacity.

Luigi & Mario collectively cannot be "The Mario Bros." unless their surname is Mario.

Donkey Kong Country on the SNES.

    Amazing game

After the arcade version of "Donkey Kong" (& variants), "Killer Gorilla" on the BBC Microcomputer (before being ported elsewhere) was were it was at!

    How high can you go?

Only surpassed that year by "Chuckie Egg"...

That said, I do like "Donkey Konga" for the Nintendo GameCube.

Arcade Donkey Kong was and still is very difficult.

If you haven't seen it yet I recommend The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) which someone has recently posted to YouTube.

He's a year and a day older than me

When he was younger, the British care system really let my son down.

Growing up, I would beat him every week without fail. This went on for years until, one day, he finally plucked up the courage to phone Childline.
