It's the 1st May - what's the cheapest price on petrol in your area?

Found 1st May 2008
Today I'm over the other side of Kent (Medway) and have the wonderful option of paying only 108.9p for my petrol (gawd) as opposed to £1.10 in West Kent.

What are you paying right now and where do you live?

Yeah I have the newsletter to my inbox once a week. Very useful.

I avoid Texaco like the plague in my area, currently 112.9 for petrol, god only knows what for diesel. Well that was 2 days ago!!

Its stupid the amount we have to pay now. Was out in New Zealand over easter and cost 139.9, for a litre of diesel and the exchange rate is around $2.4, for £1, soon diesel will be that price.

I live in venezuela, it's 0.8p a litre over here.

medway towns in kent its 110.9

its going up to 1.50 for petrol in the summer.....apparently...... getting waaaaay pricey to fill up

I'm in Gill/Chat this afternoon. I'm gonna hit the Shell on Bluebell hill on the way home tonight. 108.9 - I see a lot of grumpy faces when filling up now. With reason :x

That's where I get mine

Jet Park Strood Service Station Rochester 2.63 miles 107.9p 30-04-2008
Morrisons Morrisons Strood Rochester 2.94 miles 107.9p 30-04-2008

Morrisons petrols is sh*te though.

I live in the North East of Scotland and just now we're having to pay 123.9p for diesel - that's if we can get it!

Not only that, the government are away to put on an extra tax on older, larger cars. Well, we have five children, live in a small town with terrible public transport and run an older Zafira. We can't afford a brand new one (which would avoid the tax) and we have to have a seven seater. What can we do?

Normal families are being priced off the road.

106.9 in Asda Doncaster. Only 3 weeks ago it was 99.6!

i remember paying under 90 just last year, now it's £1.10 everywhere.

I hate this country

I passed my test in 2005. In 2006/7 I remember it being about 80p. Gawd.

I drive a 1litre car, economical as hell and I still feel it. When I have spare time I do a bit of volunteer driving (getting elderly/disabled people around). Between the 109.9's and the ****ing potential fines for parking next to Age Concern to help an old lady in a fold up wheelchair to the car there's just no way to do it. If I was driving a more powerful car there's no way I could volunteer.

What a joke!!!

105.9 @ Sainsburys in Hamilton

two stations with 1/2 mile of each other, one diesel £123.9 the other £117.9 6p a litre difference for 1/2 a mile

LOL, on LBC the other day someone said "The cheapest petrol I can get is 106.9 in Gravesend". Nick Ferrari responds with something like "Oh my god, they must be queuing for miles to get hold of that!"

Skipped topping up tonight. Gonna run on empty 'til mid day tomorrow. Christ how I wish there was such thing as a tap water conversion. :x

I was paying 82.9p a litre in July 2007 at Frome Asda's pumps, it's now £1.07.9 - 25p rise in just 10 months.

107.9p in Asda Dunfermline

hey where about in the North East are you? I am in same boat except I cant drive so bought a people carrier my sister uses to take us out cos we need 3 car seats and her car cant safely fit 3 car seats in the back, and that way if my mum or her partner are on the go, they can come too. Yeah transport is pants where I stay and so is employment - I work in Aberdeen (Cos thats where decent paid employment is), but live down in brechin cos rental prices and demand in Aberdeen for somewhere with a garden were way out of my price bracket when i split with hubby...

St John's Road in Tunbridge Wells LITERALLY has a Shell and BP next to each other. I mean honestly next door, just yards apart. The BP is always 1 or 2p more expensive than Shell. I have absolutely no clue as to why the BP gets used. Perhaps the price of diesel is different, didn't check.

Near Stafford Rangers and Astonfields Industrial Estate. Tyre Garage next door.

110.9 in the couple of petrol stations around town this morning. Apparently a lot more towards Gatwick.

Will be topping up Thursday, god help me!

Original Poster

Topped up 19th May - 2 sodding weeks after creating this thread. £1.14 (and this was at the cheapest garage in town).

Say no more!

Im on deisel,

125.9 at all of my locals now, 130.9 in a little village just a few miles down the road.

Pathetic!

:x

I bought 100 litres of biodiesel today - 105 quid - I prefer vegetable oil - but the biodiesel cleans out the system.

Diesel here is currently 119.9p

Vegetable oil - which just over 2 months ago was 56p a litre for rapeseed - the cheapest is now 84p a litre for soya oil - which is not the best for the engine and is only worthwhile long term when doing long runs.

Our cheapest is 109.9 now.

lowest i have seen 110.9, lowest acording to petrol prices 107.9 and highest 116.9

Banned

highest - 115.9 / lowest 111.9 (£5.25 a gallon)

So glad I dont commute anymore as this would be costing me £55 a week in petrol alone! Effectively meaning £100 a week of my earnings before tax would have been just to get to work!

We're all doomed
