iTunes - 12 days of gifts *heads up*

Just a heads up for those of you that own Apple devices running iOS 7 or later and haven't heard of this....

Since 2008 Apple has given away free stuff on the '12 days of Gifts' app (formally called '12 days of Christmas')

It runs from 26th Dec for (guess what!) 12 days and each day sees a new app/movie/game/book given away for free. The link goes to a webpage with more info

The app is only normally available to download on the App Store a day or so before Xmas, unless you've already got it installed from previous years.

It's a bit hit and miss but I've had some cool stuff in the past. Plus it's free.

Sorry if this has been posted in wrong section

Ps, the link takes you to a webpage with more info

Nothing certain they will do it this year and the article has some incorrect info in it, the app never got updated it was a new app each year. Some companies have had 12 days if Christmas for years and nothing this year, hoping Apple does but nothing for sure and no real reports from Apple as yet

It'll be strange if they Apple don't do it this year

They usually do an early teaser freebie before kickoff so you get 13.

    Usually utter tripe.

Actually eslick you are incorrect. There have only ever been two apps, the original "iTunes 12 days of Christmas" which never made it passed version 1.0 and the "12 Days of Gifts" which is currently at version 3.0.1 this latter app has been updated many times over the years for compatibility etc but Apple/iTunes do not release a new app every year

I'm with A13, they'll give away a single random episode of a shoddy telly show, a One Direction MP3 and some kids' apps.

Always a let down. Better off following Kotaku Deals year round.

    It's garbage every year.

I've already asked Siri to remind me!:)

Not all the time. There was the Alan Partridge knowing Me Knowing Yule episode a couple of years ago. However I will concur when they are giving away Coldplay dirge!

Apple usually give notice of this event and release an app a week or so before the event starts. No app yet and many websites are saying there will be no 12 days this year. Shame if they don't

Since everyone complained last year and went so far as to leave tonnes of negative reviews for the free apps they didn't like then I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped doing it.

People can be so ungrateful, so much so it ruins it for everyone else.

The most annoying thing is the garbage you download then clogs up you itunes/cloud.
