This is a little extreme dont you think?
Growing up as a kid we would pull crackers all the time. i dont really see how they could harm anyone.

i know the issue is with selling - but i mean a christmas cracker?
will probably be advised to pull them with gloves on soon.

understandable decision or health and safety overload?

a squirrel i think?? I dunno

i used to love crackers at xmas as a kid was one of the best bits getting teh crumby jokes and the plastic tat

I pulled a christmas cracker and it blew my face off.

Only joking, it blew my hand off.

Only joking, I just didn't win

i think its the right decision as some of the jokes in these crackers are real killers, many a time I've been that close to splitting my sides, for example : What's ET short for?
Because he's only got little legs..........

It's the health and safety rules which have gone crackers and not … It's the health and safety rules which have gone crackers and not retailers themselves

Cant say i'm suprised about this in balmy britain. We were suprised how difficult it was to but party poppers the other week we couldn't find anyone who sold them apart from wilkos. This is risk management gone mad!

This is absolutely ridiculous, what harm can a cracker do?

So, if I turn on super paranoid protective mode and what the worst that could happen is:

I gather up 12 crackers

I removed all the strips in tact and whole and bundle them all together all aligned.

I give it to my sibling/cousin etc to hold in the middle tightly with one hand.

Other youngsters pull all the other ends.

How many limbs are damaged you reckon?

Stupid I know, I suspect it's a liability thing, if an adult buys them, they become responsible for it, if it falls into the hands of children and something happens then that adult is liable, supermarkets won't be.

jesus go make a thread if you want to discuss what it is

over the top maybe, but does anyone actually stop to think that there are many, MANY stooooopid peeples out there that can hurt themselves with the simplest of tasks? Though, not sure why we'd want to protect them. It defies Natural Selection.

anyway, its definitely a chinchilla

I know its daft! The Age screen pops up at work, Plus it also asks if your over 18 on some shoe polish now too!
I was shocked last Sat when it asked me to check their age on a tin of black shoe polish!

Will they be banning party poppers next? Which are probably more dangerous.
Hope my mum hasn't banned crackers at her house on Christmas day, wouldn't be the same without my dad thinking he hysterical wearing his paper hat upside down! He also puts already pulled crackers back together and thinks its the funniest thing ever when you fall on your backside.

I used to do that.

Obviously not the blowing apart of fingers but I when I was about eleven or twelve I would buy a box of cheapo crackers from my local shop and take them apart to get to the snap strips. Sometimes I would also buy some of those circular caps (for cap guns) and take out all the gunpowder with a penknife and use the snap strips to set the little piles off.

What about those little fire crackers you use to be able to throw around that would explode. Bet those are banned now.

No can still get them, my son who's 7 won them at a tombola which I was a little suprised about!

X) I undo ours & swap the rather expensive plastic comb/spinning top/fortune telling fish/puzzle/hair grip or whatever you crackers contain, for a sprout !!!
