bmstores.co.uk/pro…378This is the cheapest reasonable bench I came across. Available nationwide in the big B&M stores, I found this at Meersbrook Park in Sheffield. Amazon price £99.
Not discounted, but this is for people to know they can get a bench for £50, I did not see any at this price so far. I know some will say this is the RRP, however, this is not HUK discounts, this is the best price I came across, so worth posting IMO.
i guess we can't expect discounts on cheap benches until the end of the summer. I had this bench (in fact the whole set which is £300 at B&M) and it is a good bench, it lasted us about 5 years and we did not even took care of it.
I posted a deal from The Range, £55 for a bench. I looked at that bench in store, this one is definitely better quality.

sorted byI have this bench, bought it maybe 4 years ago from B&M for £30 I think on clearance just after the summer. It's lasted us no problems and is actually quite sturdy.
Box states solid wood. Dont know if soft or hard. Got mine years ago from B&M, looks the same and it is certainly not engineered wood or MDF, seems wood to me. When I smashed my bench to get rid of it, was not easy at all, I will not be surprised if it is hardwood, but if we judge by the price... (edited)
I put exterior wood stain / preservative the stuff you put on wooden doors. It has been perfect ever since and I just leave it out all year round.
Very sturdy.
I also have a old wooden patio set from there which only comes out in the summer. Again very sturdy and looks as new. I just give a light coating of teak oil every year.
People assume that are rubbish because of the price. I certainly got good value from my patio set, same brand, lasted me 5 years and I still have a bench and a chair left.
We've got ours cheap, at the end of summer too. But if you need one now, I don't think you'll find many reduced. I've waited last year for the sale at the end of the season and the cheapest I found was £60 at B&Q and same at Argos, but nowhere near me. (edited)
As per my description, mine lasted over 5 years and I didn't even take care of it, in fact my kids abused it. Mine is still in one piece, quite sturdy. Also, it is wood and at under £100 I did not see anything better. I purchased the £300 set, which consists of 2 benches, one table and 2 chairs, but I paid about £120 for the whole set, at the end of the summer 5 years ago.
With regards to the look, not sure what expectations you have, to me this one looks more or less similar to most benches posted on HUKD.
The one from Robert Dyas, posted here, looks the same to me.
Probably softwood as would state hardwood if it was hardwood. Good price but a bit more gets a lot better hardwood.
