JAP PS3 and PSP help

My suppliers in Asia have managed to get hold of some PSP's versions 1.5 and 2.6 for around £110 but what is the actual difference between the 2 and can you still copy back up games on to both versions?

Also they've managed to get the Jap PS3 20gb model for about £290 or the 60gb for about £350, do you think it's worth getting this and does it have any advantages over the UK version?

I know the console is region free, so you can play all games around the world and Jap products are region 2, so all dvds should work as well.

Any help would be appreciated and i may get some extra units to sell on ebay to keep the shipping costs down.

Any advice would be appreciated

The advent of Blu-Ray has seen a change in the region coding system so now Japan is bundled in with America rather than the UK - making it by far the most powerful disc region to be in. I would assume that the standard DVD format is still compatible though.

Games are reportedly going to be region free, though it is still possible that Europe might find itself in a separate region.

Edit: A little known problem to bear in mind for the future are the censorship issues surrounding the PS3. This is a simple made up example of my own:
If you have a Japanese machine and Japan decided to censor GTA IV, even if you have an English copy of the game it would follow the Japanese censorship placed upon it.

To put it simply your hardware version will decide how you are censored.

You would need to downgrade the 2.6 PSP's to 1.5

So is back up games only available to the PSP 1.5 version as standard, as i heard they were trying to find a way of making this possible to the more recent versions.

Is there any other differences between the 1.5 and 2.6 versions and any other advice provided on the PS3 would be very helpful.
