I just got back last week. There’s plenty of shops there that offer sim cards with pre paid deals on if you don’t manage to sort it out by the time you visit. I think one of the big companies was called SoftBank. O2 also offer a deal which is £5 a day for minutes, texts and data.

That’s great thanks
you can get sim cards at Haneda and Harita airports
It really depends what you need and whether you're travelling alone. Do you need to keep your own number, are looking for just data or need calls, data and texts. How long are you travelling for.
Thanks all I’ve had a look at Softbank and it’s what I am looking for.
We went and collected a WiFi hotspot at the airport I would do that . You can then use Skype and it’s really useful for finding your way around
They give you an envelope to post it back and you can collect at the airport there are a bunch of places doing it .
