We wanting a tv and we been looking at them on John Lewis, however the same tv is available elsewhere for £500 approx less.I have been reading their price match policy on John Lewis site and it applies to items bought instore only not online ordering or over phone. I'm quite willing to travel to nearest J.L at Bluewater.I called up J.L customer services asking about price match and they say the tv as to be same, only thing is they say their tvs include 5 yr gurantee and if the tv thats £500 doesn't include the 5 yr gurantee then they can't match.Anyone know of a way round this? Most stores Comet,Dixons etc don't offer extended gurantee and you only get that if you pay extra.

Looks like they've closed that loophole bonus with the guarantee extension then. Unless anyone knows differently

I just did a JL TV price match where the warranty's didn't line up and it went through OK.
My own view is that the JL warranty is free and so should not be part of the comparison.

Try calling another store you may get a different answer.
