John Lewis Quit Quidco Hire New couriers EXCLUSIVE! £600 delivery charge SHOCK

Found 13th Jun 2008
well maybe not exclusive but as some of you know john lewis has quit quidco and believe it or not but this has influenced me in buying my next tv as buying with vouchers and quidco from dixons works out so much cheaper now than john lewis online ( no jl stores in n.ireland),officially you cant get a pricematch with john lewis if you live in n.ireland but if you email enough stores one or two usually try their best, had a phone call from the cheadle john lewis store this morning and they agreed in principle to a pricematch with sound and vision for a panasonic plasma, just one small thing ,the delivery cost with their new couriers(old charge to n.ireland was £65-£75)
Thir new couriers have quoted me "£600 plus" for delivery to n.ireland! YES you read that right, "£600 plus" delivery charge! obviously plus the cost of plasma unit, the girl didnt even flinch just saying it was a bit high, no kidding! She didnt say what courier company it was and after careful consideration i refused her offer of a pricematch, good start to friday the 13th,good old dixons, same Tv delivered free to n.ireland (save £600!),maybe i should post this as a deal

I know some companies / couriers take the pi$$ when shipping to here but that is madness.

excuse my n00biness
what does HTH mean?

£600 isn't too bad. In fact, when you factor in the private helecopter I presume they'll be using to deliver the TV directly to your back garden and the 40 minute turnaround in order to delivery time, it seems quite reasonable.

haah you could be right but they probably will add an aviation fuel surcharge on top as well!
