What a rip off, hope they don't sell and she palys to a half empty arena.

Promoters behind LADY GAGA's MONSTER BALL tour have defended the decision to raise prices for a newly announced string of gigs in Britain, insisting the inflated costs are "comparable and fair."

The singer kicked off her British trek in Manchester, England last month (Feb10), and after a high demand for tickets, she announced a new batch of gigs for May and June (10).

But fans have been left fuming after prices for the upcoming summer shows were hiked - seats for Lady Gaga's previous performances started at £27.50, while the summer concerts begin at £50.

One fan, Ric DICkinson, expressed his displeasure in a post on the star's official website, writing, "Will we be getting a brand new show when the tour comes back to the U.K. in May? Or will the show be the same and fans will be expected to pay £75 for a show that only cost them £27 to see months earlier?"

However, Arthur Fogel, chairman of global touring at concert promotion company Live Nation, has defended the move - insisting Lady Gaga's new shows will be bigger and better than her previous performances.

He tells the BBC, "Ticket prices for the previous dates were set long before the current Monster Ball show was developed. Ticket prices are comparable and fair.

"What was a small arena/theatre production is now a massive, first rate arena production."

The news comes just days after Lady Gaga postponed two dates on the current leg of her U.K. tour - the concerts in Sheffield and Nottingham, England were slated for this month (Mar10), but will now go ahead when the star returns to Britain in the summer (10).

It's hardly waaaahh, I wouldn't go if she was at the bottom of the garden.

Can you show me an artist with such a small back catalogue and so few hits to charge the same?

Thanks for the heads up, at 9am tomorrow morning, I'll get a weird evil boost, knowing I wont be wasting my life going to see He-Man and be made to listen to its god awful music

    /end hate

It says on Ticketmaster the Prices. It is wrong how they are exploiting people just like the touts do. But supply and demand, as long as theres demand they will want as much as they can get knowing people will pay it

    Seating
    £56.50 (£50.00 Ticket + £6.50 Fees)
    £83.25 (£75.00 Ticket + £8.25 Fees)

    Standing

Couldn't agree more. It's rare that an artist like her actually produces such good 'pop' songs at the same time.

Can the moaner suggest a similar artist?

I'll take it I am the moaner, which is actually completely wrong I like Lady Gaga for exactly the reasons casperwhite says (wouldn't go and see her though), what I object to is the astronomical prices that are ripping her fans off.

re: prices still waiting for a comparable artist though F&F (think I'll be in for a long wait)

Mumford and Sons were going for £100 per ticket for their gig at the SBEmpire.

If that's what the market will bear, then I don't see the issue with £75 for a standing ticket.

But no, I'm not gonna trawl other gigs to find price comparisons. I think it's a fair price for what will be a great show.

If I was poor, I might moan too:whistling:

Nice cop out there F&F, in other word you once again can't find anyone.

You just keeping on trolling away to your hearts content.

£83 for seats, bet this doesn't sell out too quickly.

Only problem with price increase is that she could be pricing out the younger fans and families. At the older prices it was more affordable for a family to go, but by almost doubling the cost some could struggle to afford the new costs. If it was all about the fans why not keep the prices similar and not almost double the tickets.

    Saying I don't think it's expensive isn't trolling.

It's comparable to a decent seat at a Premier League football match, or a seat at Twickenham to watch England play terrible rugby.

It's an added date due to demand, it'll sell out so why not sell it for what the market will bear?

occasionally a newbie will bite, everyone else just cringes

think she is entitled to a price increase of some sort-when she started touring 9 months ago she was the SUPPORT act for the pussycat dolls, then went on tour herself-the entire tour was set,and prices agreed before her second single hit and she took off big time. The original tour only had one stage set,now she has four different sets. She claims that her recent gigs LOST her money because she put a huge show on at small show prices.

Not sure the prices above 80 quid are justified tho-50 would be fair and comparable nowadays I reckon. I just paid 85 quid for mccartney and 88 for michael buble, and while its fair to say gaga outsold both last year, that isnt exactly an indicator that she will have the same longevity.

disagree tho with anyone who says it wont sell out immediately tho-I bet it will.

    :w00t:

Buble seems like a nice guy, but whenever I see him perform I just think I could be watching a Frank/Dean/Sammy DVD instead.

(And now for some gentle mocking)

Do his tickets come with a discount voucher for HRT?

Does he have giant fans pointed at the audience to help deal with the hot flushes?

    Thanks, She is Fab !!!

All new stage set outfits etc, think thats why prices have gone up, People were paying upto £300 for 2 tickets on ebay, So I would rather buy from TM and be safe,.
