just a little question for a tekkie

i hope this isnt a daft question. here goes
i have purchased a samsung ht - c350/xeu cinema surround sound system ( before people rubbish it, it was ideal for my £100 pound budget ) in the book it says it will support a portable hdd via the usb upto 160gb, the question is if i buy a 500 gb and partition it to say 4 partitions of 125gb each would it recognise and treat each partition as a seperate drive.
    thanks in advance
