Just been refused a contract by 3 for no apparent reason!

I've just applied for a new moby contract with 3 and have been refused because of my credit rating! 3's explanation of possible causes is:

Here are a few examples of the type of issues that could affect your score:

• Having little or no information held by the Credit Reference Agency
• Falling behind with payments on a credit agreement

• Having failed to pay previous credit agreements

• Having County Court Judgements or other publicly registered information

I've never been in any kind of debt in my life and none of the above apply at all, so what's my problem? Is it because I've already got 2 contracts with 3 (one for my wife and one for my son)? If so, why don't they just say that? I'm absolutely livid because I've spent months waiting for the right deal to come along for myself and when it did, 3 'bounced' me. Now the deal has gone.

If I wish to appeal, I must first obtain my credit info as follows:

If you wish to see details of information held by the credit reference agencies, you should write to the companies below, enclosing a cheque or postal order for £2.00 made payable to the relevant company:

Why the hell should it cost me £2 + much time and effort for somebody else's mistake?

Any suggestions?

Yours,
Mega narked of hukd!

(BTW, I don't necessarily blame 3, as they're not the ones who have blackened my credit rating, assuming they've looked up the correct person, of course!)

In the same boat as you m8 i have 2 contracts

1 for me and one for the missus

i rang three yesterday to get a third and they said no @ first so i went mentle @ them

and they then said you can have one with a £150 deposit

i told them were to stick it

now the things that "][email protected] me off the most is

ive had my contracts for over 5 months never missed a payment and aint had a bill lower then £40 each yet

this is real bad as they were surely going to make more money of me

and what they said to you m8 is a load of crap as they are just geussing the reason why you were declined (thats direct from the 3 sales team)

come peeps help us 2 out what are our rights

What I don't understand is, 3 have a product to sell, Dub 1 and I have bought their product and demonstrated our ability and willingness to pay for that product, yet they don't want to sell us any more of it.

Weird, or what?

Now I'm confined to hours more surfing looking for a similar deal (but I doubt it will appear for a long time!) which I'll then buy in my wife's name. http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/images/icons/icon8.gif

im sure that some companies limit the number of contracts you buy in a certain period... im sure i have read this on HUKD in the past

yep thats true but only for the first 1-3 months after that they review how youve handled the contracts then take this info to base the decision on further handsets. There is a cap but how many depends on the operator

I know as I did 5 consumer contracts for someone in one name, then added a further 3 a month and a bit later without any hassle just a re-vet for additional ones

That could be it then, as I took out contracts for my son and wife in June and have just received the 3rd bills. Perhaps I'll be ok in a couple of weeks, but why couldn't Customer (lack of) Service just say that! Grrrrrrrrrr!

That could be the problem though as it may mean:

If you already have 2 contracts in your name I would suspect that they have a maximum number they allow or something.
