would it make a good gaming TV? I read it has a cooling system so it can handle long hours of play.

Do you think this would make a good gaming TV? I read it has a cooling feature to handle long hours of use

why did you buy something without doing research first

It looks like it's a commercial display rather than a television. So it's got a higher maximum backlight level and a wider array of inputs but no TV tuners or other TV specific stuff.

I don't know enough about the market to tell how it compares for gaming use.

A 17" portable used to be £99 so I guess you've
got a bargain.

where did u get it? it's not a retail TV..

It is showing as £735 from Bt business direct

If you was after a tv then this is a terrible deal as it isn't a tv. If you were after an led display then it's a cracking deal

Been console gaming for years and years, never had an issue with long gaming sessions on any TV I've used, maybe I've been lucky so I doubt the cooling system matters to much.

I think you could watch non-live broadcast TV by linking it up to a computer or dvd player and not have to pay for a TV licence, as it does not have a receiver. Could be ideal if you're in a house share or never want to watch live broadcast TV.
Not 100% sure so you'd need to check it out further.

u won't need to pay for a licence if u even have a tv but don't watch or record live TV apart from the new law on iplayer u can't use that anymore

It is a display and NOT a TV. However as it comes with a freeview box you do need a licence.

why people are telling you that you don't need a licence is ignorance.

From the TV licencing website 'Do I need a TV Licence if I only ever watch on demand services (like catch up TV), DVDs or downloaded programmes?
You don’t need a licence if you only ever watch on demand or catch up programmes on services other than BBC iPlayer (and you also never watch live TV programmes on any channel, including on iPlayer).
You also don’t need a licence to watch DVDs, Blu-rays or videos.
You need a TV Licence to download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand. This applies to any device and provider you use.' tvlicensing.co.uk/che…-it

What is Freeview Play?

Simply put, it’s live TV and on demand, all in one place.

So it gives you live TV. so you need a licence. Until the change in Iplayer law I didn't have a licence. I didn't have an aerial connected to my TV so it was clear I couldn't watch live TV.

no idea. it depends what you want to use for the gaming. if it's a playstation or similar then you probably can.

I suppose the key words are 'watch live broadcasts' and 'use iplayer'. if you do not watch live TV or use iPlayer you do not need a license. moneysavingexpert.com/uti…nce

yes those are the key words. Being able to prove that you are good and don't do it is another matter. I personally decided to get a licence as I couldn't prove I didn't even without an aerial. I actually use Amazon and Netflix.
