Just found a dead fly in my loaf of bread!

Ok it wasn't a massive fly but it's still disgusting!

It was Hovis Soft White that I bought from Sainsbury's yesterday. I chucked the receipt away this morning as well.

I've only just started eating tinned sweetcorn again after finding a caterpillar in there.

    Yuck!

I see you're from Nottingham too. If you've bought any Hovis bread from Sainsbury's in Arnold you might want to check it carefully before you eat it

    I'm shocked.

I didn't realise that they'd started lacing bread with this :?

Whatever was in the bread killed the fly :? I'd imagine the worst you'd get is a dodgy tummy for a day or so

Silly me. Maybe I'll just remove the fly & forget it was ever there

I'd rather eat my own toenails lol!

i reckon the 10 second rule would have applied from the moment u saw the fly, so if ud whacked it off straight away the bread was ok imo

so is it the fact that the fly was dead,or that it was not massive enough?

Lol, it was the fact that it was a fly full stop. I just thought I'd state that it wasn't a big fly

    Sure it weren't a raisin?

    u sure it wasn't a runaway sultana???

why? it came out the hovis factory, not sainsburys.

the rest of the batch could be anywhere

Zoe - so let's get this right - you found a caterpillar and ate that rather than the tinned sweetcorn, the caterpillar was a little on the large size meaning you've only just got round to eating the sweetcorn?

    Right so far?

Now you've switched your diet to bread and toenails but objected to eating flies - I'm just surprised you're a fussy eater.:w00t:

    LOL! Very funny

If you write to Sainsburys/Hovis, you will get more freebies.

I bought mouldy cheddar from Farmfoods once, they gave me £10 in vouchers.

i found a fly in a muller yoghurt. i wrote to them about it and all i got back was info on how yoghurts are made. it was like they were trying to say there was no way a fly could have got in there

It was a guess as there a a few fly based squasher,s out there:)

it doesnt matter if you have thrown away the receipt you can still make a official complaint on there site, contact us,give your details and tell them what was in the loaf,a free loaf doesnt mean it can have flies in it.they would send you vouchers for three loafs, but the points is health first .

call them and tell them that you will contact the papers with the story unless they give you £1m in compensation

you won't get anything but you will give them something to laugh about
