    Just killed my lawnmower :(

Thought I'd do the Mrs a favour and mow the garden as its getting very lawn.
Normally its one of the things she does and Im a bit useless at.....

All going well and about 2/3rds through when I turn around to go back up and cut through the lawn mower cable

Looks like I need to start looking at replacement cables or replacement lawn mowers.
Anyone know any good deals or ideas!

    No good deed goes unpunished!

You should be able to get a coupler for the cable to fix it, that's probably the cheaper method

A Chimpanzee with a gun, mowing a lawnhttp://www.day.az/forum/style_emoticons/default/thinking.gif................how did I know "This would not end well":-D

Robotochan is right, a waterproof coupler should fix it.

Get yourself a rabbit and then then you just gotta go round the edges with a strimmer.

Rabbit cheaper to buy than a lawnmower, since we got ours,we not had mower out.

We actually would like a rabbit, but we go away a bit too often and already have to get family to look after the dog and a neighbour to feed the fish (in the pond).

    Rep to all for help!

Just looking at the area I have mowed and it doesnt look anywhere near as good as when the Mrs does it! Should have known better!

Yeh my Mum takes the budgie, and my partners Mum takes the rabbit, cos she was the 1 who bought it for us so she knew if we needed to go away she need deal with him.
    Eats the grass lovely lol.

Thats handy, I'd love to have a load more animals if we could!

Anyone able to help find a example of the waterproof electrical coupler from someone like B&Q could do with sorting this sooner rather than later and any help would be appreciated (& repped)

Seems I need a "Rubber 3 pin connector" so need to hope B&Q do them, will pay them a visit tmrw.

Tbh If it was me I would use a normal coupler, but I'm sure some health and safety fanatic would say it's illegal:w00t:

We once had 2 sheep when I was a child to keep the grass down in our orchard, named 'Mint sauce' and 'Gravy'.

Mower wise, if you are thinking of getting a new one try your local garden machinery place, when we needed a new mower they did us a great deal on an ex-demo model and were so helpful.

A connector like this should do the job - its what I use on my lawnmower.......

and decent ones cut much better and quicker....used my honda izy on wetish grass about 4 in high...one pass no problem...downside is they are alot heavier (mine is self propelled though which helps alot) and they are alot more expensive (mine was about £300, rrp £400ish)
