lol are you mad? Just becuase a few people on here say its a scam, you dont know for sure. What you should do is phone up the Inland Revenue to make sure.

How do you know someone hasnt filled in forms with your name on it?........do the right thing and give them a call before someone blags your identity and uses it for all manner of things. At least it will give you peace of mind.

Considering if you have not even seen the email how do you know?

I hope the emails I have received are fake because they are asking me to pay a 25k tax bill.

If you really did owe them money they would not demand it via an email - in ALL cases it would be done by letter.

Also, bearing in mind that tax is paid only on a precentage of earnings, just what have you been doing that you could possibly owe £25k?

Go on their site, they use email for nearly everything.

I do really owe them that money, they advise me by email on everything.

How many people commenting on this thread have ever had to compile their own accounts and submit their own return? I am guessing next to nobody.

Again you say "these matters" without even seeing the letter.

Go on their website, type email in the search and you can see the huge list of things which they DO send emails out for.

I have compiled my own accounts - I have done it at the local tax office & also online. I have had email responses, but have never had an email at the start of proceedings. It may be that other people have, and I'm not calling you a liar - I'm just letting you know from my own experience.

Still, if you're sure that you owe them the money & you're happy to reply to unsolicited emails, then go for it. At the very least, phone them & check before you click on the 'reply' button.

As I have previously said, I do owe them the funds (unfortunately)

I've had about 5 today with this, like a tool i clicked on it but luckly for me i realised the link on the page pointed to a .exe so shut it down.

Here is the domain detail with a email address, lets spam em back lol

you are best to click on it and fill out the details else you may go to prison for fraud, disable any antivirus software before you do as it may block the form being sent, good luck.

    Great advise.;-)

I work for HMRC and we were told about this email this week. Don't open it. Apparently when the attachment is opened there is something in there that can hack into your computer for bank dets etc. If any information is requested from HMRC you will be written to or called.
