Just seeing if anyone would be interested in the following if I listed them......

Basically my GF has recently graduated from her MChem and has the following text books surplus to requirements. We wanted to know if there are any chemistry students or just budding chemists that may want them. We know generally what good second hand copies of each are worth but wanted to make sure its worth listing on here before.

    Books:

    Aktins Physical Chemistry 7th Edition
Inorganic Chemistry 2nd Edition - Housecroft and Sharpe

There may be a few more too

Thanks for any comments (except the sarky ones lol)

Might be worth selling them at the university to students in lower years as they'll prob be on their reading lists,

I don't see the point of this thread, as you now can not list it for a week.
You should have listed it and see what happens. It's not like it would have cost you anything.

I know that but there's no point in listing untill we know if there is any interest, I dont mind waiting 7 days after.

People looking for these books wouldn't be looking in "Misc", so you're not going to get a true representation of interest here.

People look for books everywhere and anywhere they can get them. The OP isnt looking to get a "true representation of interest", they are just looking to sell their books. It only takes 1 person to make an offer to buy them!!!!!!

You of all people should know the tat that gets put up in Misc to see if people will be interested......I dont see anything wrong with someone doing the same for some specialist books.

Could you try ebay? Looks like they sell on there.

Well....In my defence I have to say that I am selfish rather than trying to hit the spot for someone else

Problem is with books....weight. Student will look at total cost, incl P+P, sometimes hardly worth the effort for what you get. Put mine on freecycle, taken by student who still keeps in touch. Gave me a lot more satisfaction.

No such luck when my 2 sons started Uni, no second hand stuff available.

I know the money would be nice but just not worth all the hassle for what I would hav got.

    how much for the atkins?

lol just looked up my book shelf i have atkins 8th edition dont think i've used before
how much for the inorganic chemistry and have you got a pic? i need one textbook cant remember the name but i know its purple in colour :giggle:

Atkins is a good text for 1st year chemical engineers in my opinion.
