    Just some eBuyer advice please....

I placed an order with ebuyer in the early hours of Tuesday morning and selected the free delivery within 5 days, I have just checked the status of my order and they are purposely holding back the order for delivery on the 9th January! but they have taken my payment, im sure i've read somewhere that payment is not supposed to be taken until dispatch of the items, is this right? I dont think its fair purposely holding orders back, my last order from them they did this too and it took 9 days to come, im currently in the phone queue trying to get through to them to do some screaming!!

I think its out of order that ebuyer (or any other company) go out of their way and purposely hold onto goods for a week just because you wouldnt pay a delivery charge! Most places it will send/deliver at the first opportunity. I took my order to £50 to get free delivery but after just speaking with them, ended up paying an addition £8.99+vat for Friday delivery. I will think twice in future before ordering from them, I reckon its bad practice. Also, why is next day delivery (ordered today Wednesday) delivery Friday? They said payment is taken immediately to allow stock to be allocated - whatever!

    two points to note here

Not sure but is ebuyers free delivery offer within 5 working days?

Secondly they will take payment when it is ready for despatch, and the way companies like ebuyer workk when they offer free / discounted delivery option like this is that they have courier contracts by weight / volume. So what happens is that is they have not exceeded this allowance with the courier then they top up with packages on free delivery, but if not then the free delivery items wait till teh next day and so on up to 5 days, but this maybe working days.

Not really, they take payment when iys available for shipping, so that if there is space that day then can just put it in the couriers boxes and its gone. You only wait 5 days if they are very busy. After 5 days they may have to pay extra to get it out within the delivery promise or they may chance their arm and delay it further hoping you will not notice!
