Yer ive been meaning to try chrome but i love my firefox

I tried chrome, its a really nice browser but i prefer firefox.

chrome is sill beta and has problems with a lot of sites at the moment - best to keep ie on standby.

i have ie, opera, firefox & safari installed on my desktop - maybe add chrome once its not beta as I like the threaded approach they have taken.

got lost reading the following bit

IE is a part of the operating system and you cant really delete it.

That is not true any more.

For legal reasons Microsoft had to unbundle IE from Windows as it gave them an unfair advantage. If I look in my Add / Remove programs on XP I CAN uninstall IE7.

However I would not recommend it, partly because uninstalling it MAY cause other problems, also because Microsoft have such dominence in the brower market many sites design for IE and may not work on other browsers.

(I am not saying that is right, and every web site should be browser neutral, however we have to be honest and say some sites work better with IE)

I've been an Opera user for a while but always keep IE as occasionally there are sites that won't work properly.

That's always been the case and you'll see the same thing in Windows 98.

People only say you can't 'remove it' because IE uses some stuff that's built into windows (which is also availible to other programs) and people think it's part of IE.

I would keep IE on their as their are some sites that only work with certain browsers like IE, or more recently firefox.

Chrome is the very first release of a new browser so I wouldn't use it as your sole browser and I wouldn't use it for anything sensitive like online banking yet as it will have problems.

p.s. Now try all the other browsers like Opera, Maxthon, Seamonkey, Avast, Firefox, Flock and Safari.

Personally I can't live without an undo feature and mouse gestures.
