Karcher pressure washer-anyone got one?advice please

I know this is probably the STUPIDEST question in the world but we just ordered one from tesco direct-picking up on saturday-I think we need to buy a garden hose as well, mrs barky thinks we dont.

She seems to believe you fill a tank inside it up with water? Im sure I saw it demonstrated on tv and you run a hose into it direct from the tap?

Like I said, this is probably idiotic but need to know whether to buy a hose or not? and if I do need a hose any special attachment required?

I just cant believe its an onboard tank-it wouldnt last very long, but mrs barky insists she is correct and I aint arguing without facts!

    cheers for info

You'll find you need a hose...And a reel extention lead will come in handy too as you'll need to plug it in...

would not be a bad idea to also fit a circuit breaker with all the water about

Also make sure you have adequate water pressure - the pressure washer has an automatic cut-off if the water pressure drops (or if the water hose gets a kink in it & restricts the water flow).

youl also need an attatchment at end of hose to attacht to pressure washer may or may not come with hose

to be honest, Karchers are very good units. they dont require huge pressure from tap to work, have built in protection against electricity mishaps, come with adapters to fit to most standard hoses, so all you really need is a hose.

Same as everyone has already said but make sure the hose doesnt have any kinks or it'll stop. Also a word of warning; if you are using it to clean a patio or brickwork they are so powerful that not only will they take the dirt off the surface but they also take a fine layer off the surface itself leaving it slightly pitted with the sad result that the lichen and dirt now has an abrasive surface to cling to so it returns faster. Once you start using one you'll be cleaning everything a lot more than you did before you ever started.

good advice, though, if you were sold it rather than bought it, if the salesperson was good at their job, they would ask what you planned to clean and ensured you buy a variable pressure lance
if you dont have one, get one. worth the money. they can also wash the colour out of stone etc on full pressure :w00t:

Salesmen tend not to care how well it suits you, more so how much it will cost you
