Are you looking to buy one, or looking for advice on the types of washing machines.

If you are looking to buy one, then this needs moving to Deal Requests and you need to give a budget

If you are looking to see if washing machines have the ability to load that much, then the answer id 'yes' the dyson models (with a 5 year guarentee and warranty) has the capability of loads over 6kg

Don't know how reliable this is - (Which? seems to say mid range for reliabilty, but a bit on the noisy side) but i have been looking at this one...]http//ww…id=

]This is my washer and it's fantastic! I've had it for over two years and never had a problem with it & it's really quiet! I can hear my neighbours more than mine own!

The only super reliable WM's are from Miele, but they ain't cheap.

Most other standard brands are almost the same now, many are made in the same factories with a different badge.

Bosch is my recommendation....mine is over 6 years old with at least 5/6 loads a week and has been ultra reliable....not a single breakdown.

The only problem with that is, Bosch Machines, like most, are not of the same quality as those made 6+ years ago.

They are almost all being made down to a price these days.

One I will always recommend to avoid is Hotpoint. Every WM or Dishwasher of theirs has been nothing but problems. The last dishwasher was declared "a lemon" and they wouldnt do a thing about it. I had to use the Sale of Goods act and claim off the retailler. (Who I eventually got a brand new machine from.) Obviously everyone has a story to tell - but 3 Hotpoints and everyone of them trouble, makes my mind up.

Id go along with Bosch. However, make sure you buy one of the German built ones - not Spanish. They are NOT the same quality. (Our last one packed up after 6 years.)

We currently have a Service Washing machine, which touch wood has been fine. Bought on an offer through a catalogue for about £190 delivered. Free extended warrenty for a year (now expired) through our credit card. By my logic, we could get through 2 machines in 6 years at this cheap price or no better on ones costing double - without the extra burden of an expensive extended warrenty or replair bills.

Effectively it removes the gamble without the cost.
