Kitchens: B&Q, Homebase, MFI, Trade Depot, etc

Can anyone give some advice on what Kitchen units are good/bad from some of these outlets?

Im aware that Trade Depot and B&Q are owned by the same company, and Im also aware that a company called Howdens supply MFI

Have been planning to go to B&Q this evening with an OAP and buy a Kitchen from there as they have a sale on :whistling: (and price match)

Howdens no longer supply MFI as it was sold off a few months back. I believe the Howdens stuff is only available through their outlets? Might be wrong on that though.

MFI is overpriced unless you know someone who works for them and can go with you to get stupid discounts. Even then it is still chipboard underneath, even on the Schreiber stuff.

I have had 2 kitchens from B&Q (only due to moving house) and have been happy with them, although I recommend getting your worktops, sink and taps from a local building supplier as they are way cheaper than B&Q.

Ikea is another option.

I think it can depend on what you pay. We bought semi cheap units from MFI and they showed water damage after about a year. Had some guarantee and they replaced all damaged units.

Ikea is meant to be good and cheap for kitchen units.

B&Q do very good kitchens, we had are kitchen done about 4 years ago and we had no problems with it.

...Just got back from B&Q...unfortunately the OAP discount isnt available on Kitchens or Bathrooms!

Anyhoo...I got the guy to design our Kitchen...got a print out of the part codes and the design...went on the B&Q website (through Quidco) and can get 5% Cashback that way lol

Any other vouchers anyone knows of?

Triple nectar points for online orders at B&Q, might give you a little bit back...:-D
