    Laptop cooler wanted.

I have the Toshiba laptop from last year (Comet Deal). It has started overheating a lot and turning off.

Anoyne know of a GOOD laptop cooler which you can still use the laptop on your lap with and will actually cool the laptop?

    Thanks!

You'll probably find unscrewing the heat sink
(the area where the fan puts the heat out)

That it is clogged up with dust and dirt......I'd try that first

i know the pound shops has them dont know if they are any good

Dont think its that easy with this laptop. Its the toshiba one with Harmon Kardon Speakers.

take the laptop to someone who has an air compressor and blow out all the vents
failing that, you can buy can of air, and use the tube thingy to really get in there

you dont want a laptop cooler in this case, you need to get all the dust out from the deep of the heat exchanger inside to solve the problem

a laptop cooler wont solve the bigger issue, clean first, then buy a cooler if you want to keep it cooler if you want to

Brother had toshiba laptop few years back and found placing on table or sumthing best when using as had the same problem.

I'll agree with the opening it up and giving it a good dust. I've had the same problem with a number of laptops and this usually sorts it out. Just be careful to remember how it all fits together again!!
