I bought a Samsung R519 today for £219 and it had Net intelligence on it from the previous owner and i uninstalled it and now my wireless connection wont work.

Anyone know the problem?

Thanks...

I think the cause is probably something Net Intelligence did, or didn't do. My guess would be that your Proxy settings are still pointing to the NI localhost proxy server, which is now no longer there, although if you give more information, you'll get a more informed answer.

I deleted the net intelligence registery key as the program was password protected, it keeps telling me that there are no connections available. i have enabled the wireless card but somewhere it isnt doing what it should.when i try to enable, allow other users to connect through this computers internet connection it wont let me.it says the dependency service cannot start.

I have got a R519, (on it now) -- so if you need any config settings etc, let me know.

The default backup software writes to the D:\, can you do a restore to the base build ?

to be honest im not sure sorry to be so unclear

Is the wireless showing as enabled in device manager ?>

Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter

Driver version 8.0.0.279

However, I think first off you need to ensure that the Net intelligence is completely removed,

Do you have any disc's with the laptop to restore from them ?

By the sounds of it you got one of those Freebie Home access Computers that is supplied to those on benefits. There is a thread all about them on here and MSE with full support re the preinstalled software

Here is the link to the Samsung site for the drivers etc samsung.com/uk/…d=P

My R519 is silver and has Windows professional, 3GB of ram and has 150GB HDD

exfil that sounds about right, they had the extra ram put in but the net intelligence was the giveaway as it is the child assistance software

Downloaded TCP/IP software.

Hi exfil, I'd seriously consider getting your money back for the computer and reporting the person who sold the computer to you. It's against their terms to sell a home access computer.
