Laptop Help/Advice

I am looking to buy a laptop for xmas, but want one that is capable of playing games. I am not a hard core gamer but would at least like to play some of the up to date games that are out there. My budget is £500 (top end), but most of the lap tops I have seen all have integrated graphics which I have been told is no good for gaming. A colleague in work has offered his lap top for sale @ £450 which he says he paid £1000 for this time last year from PC world. The spec is:

The spec does go on but I would be here all night

Can anyone advise me whether this is a good deal or not, is there anything of the same or better spec for my budget around?

    Any advice grately appreciated.

That laptop would never have been £1,000 last year he's trying to pull a fast one on you. You would expect that laptop for about £400 brand new. Ask for the receipt and make sure it is actually 256MB graphics card as thats the only good thing about it and the 1GB RAM which is standard now a days. The only thing that lets it down is the processor.

    not worth it
