    Hi dude

I just got my self a dell studio 15 - heres a website dmxdimension.com/ that gives you 5% of or if you spend a lot more 10%, you just add the 5/10% voucher at the dell checkout and the money comes off!

It has what you asked for above- core i5, 4 gbram ddr3, 15", 500gb HD, HDMI every thing thats new!

    Hope this helps

hmm £600 is a lot of money.
TBH, I would say at this point in time, try and bag a laptop with Nvidia Optimus technology. These laptops are fairly common in the US, but the Uk seems to be dry at the moment.

I can tell you ASUS have some good laptops out there, atleast in the US which will fit your budget and provide the performance, the money you are willing to fork out, shoudl provide!

in th UK I can only see one model
    More about optimus
    loopygadgets.com/asu…uk/

The one ASUS model you can buy at the moemnt is
    asuslaptop.co.uk/pro…81V

Though if you were to buy any ASUS from the US, you get 3 yrs worldwide warranty and 1 yr accidental damage protection standard, with both ways shipping paid by ASUS!! Well worth if you know some1 in the US!

You say £600 is a lot of money, but that looks quite a bit outside of my price range!

Hi, I'm looking for a similar spec laptop for my brother. Uses would include general uni work, browsing n light gaming (fm10, total war series etc). Not a lot around at the moment in terms of laptops at this price. Dell studio 15 is what seems to be popping up more often than not. NVIDIA optimus laptops are clearly out of the budget n if we do ever see any more this side of the pond prices are likely to still be 800+. In the end I've gone for a Sony vaio e series 15.5. System is customisable via Sony website. Unfortunately was available on amazon but prices have just gone up! So...Intel core i3 350m, 4gb RAM, ATI 5470 cost 598. I know dell may be slightly cheaper but the Sony e series is very popular n very sleek too. Ps i5 430 is a 40 quid upgrade, not sure if its worth it tho?

Well you are spending 600GBP on a laptop, which to me is a lot of money for a machine really. But thats because I use mine as a secondary machine. But if I did have 600 I would try and get an optimus based machine. Purely as you get better battery life, much better. For me the ideal laptop would have been the Asus U30JC, or the equivalent 15" one! Though the U30JC is available for $899 which is within the budget if you can get hold of it from the US. Again not much help here.. but soemtimes timing is perfect and you can save a lot of money!

For some reason I never looked on the sony site itself. Looks like with the e-series, its £590, with a free upgrade to i5-520. £20 for an extra gb of ram and £30 for a graphics card. I think I'll do that tbh. Thanks a lot

Just seen that amazon have reduced price to £605.97 from £649.00 (although it was £589.99 a week back)!

Free upgrade to i5-520?? how did do get that? I dont think thats on there anymore!
