Laptop Keyboard help Please!

Could anybody tell me of a keyboard i can buy that will be compatible with my laptop please!

I am not really interested in a wireless one as i have read that hey can be a bit slow?

I did buy a keyboard from Argos which stated usb/ps2 connectivity but when i got it home it would not fit any sockets on my laptop and only had a round kind of plug instead of a rectangular one (which is what i have on my laptop - four of them.... there is a kind of round one but the plug from the keyboard i bought would not fit).
Hope this makes sense!

Not sure what to buy now... but do not like the keyboard on my laptop!

Would be really grateful for your help!

u sure it wont fit? ps2 connectors only go in a certain way got to line it up properly

also if it said usb/ps2 compatibility there may be a little adaptor in the box, was in one of mine once

There shuld be an adaptor in the box that converts the PS/2 interface (the round one) to the USB interface (the rectangular one). If there's not, and you only have the circular connector, take it back to Argos and replace it with one that's purely USB. Chances of any modern laptop having a PS/2 connector are slim, since it's quite an old format, and it's long since been replaced by USB.

U can get a PS2 to usb converter for about 2 quid or just buy a usb keyboard.

exactly what i wrote on the other thread where you asked this question

You need one of these.

If they said the keyboard was PS/2 AND USB then this small component should have been in the box.

The "round" end is PS/2, the rectangle end is USB.

Check it is not inside the keyboard packaging somehwere.

Thankyou for your help guys!
There was not an adaptor in the box
But i have seen this one on this great site
Will this be suitable? ( Is half the price too
Or any that state usb/ps2
Is it just a miatake on Argos' behalf then?

i know i asked this question in another post but as it was four weeks old thought i would not get a reply...

Thanks though for your answer

lol if youve got a new keyboard sat there all you need is the cheap adaptor no point buying another keyboard, or take it back to argos and tell them the description is wrong
