Hi all, I bought a Laptop from Tesco today, and the spec was much lower than as advertised. Firstly the graphics card was a lower model, it didn't have a fingerprint reader, and also there was a couple of other things too.

Any Idea where I stand? I haven't opened it yet, and don't mind keeping it, do you think they will give me a partial refund?

Thanks all

most likely the laptop was in wrong place & the spec you was looking at for a bigger price

also why didnt you check before you left store:whistling:

Phone CS tell them your very unhappy blah blah and see what they offer!!

Because they were super busy. I took the tag, as I bought the last laptop, The model number matches, the specification doesn't

they probably won't offer anything unless it was there fault

if yours is the one adverised but hasnt got the specs as you say its misrepresentation - get the store manager and explain - hopefully you will come away with a bargain - if he just says sorry its a mistake - mention trading standards - misrepresentation (pc world are always doing this )

if he still doesnt cough up - contact t s - good luck - laws on your side

It is the one advertised, but the spec is different to as advertised. e.g. Graphics said 8600, but it is an 8400. No bluetooth or reader.

Sloth/Mod

If they've incorrrectly marked it up then they will give you double the difference............if it's a manufacturer error they'll ask for it back and give you a refund.

So its misadvertised then.... i would definatly take it back and have a look in the shop before hand to see if the one you have is still their and advertised how it was when ou brought it..... if so then go in with ur laptop an talk to the manager.... they should be ok with it if you point it out to them

The spec is misadvertised, the models match though

I'm assuming you've bought a Dell? Which model have you bought? Dell models have the same model number for a variety of diff specs and they've obviously given you the wrong one, to be honest i'd take it back as the diff between an 8400 and 8600 graphics card is huge...

Banned

I see they have put does not come with blue tooth and reader as previously stated....Think you would get more out of them by phoning, you will only get refund if taken to store.

Well, I am entitled for a refund anyway, within 28 days. I wanted them to replace it with a machine with that spec, or give me a partial refund

did you take it back how did you get on?
